You might be surprised that we don't always go for the individual with the highest marks at university. We look for potential, to the total contribution a candidate can make to our firm.
Potential is however very often reflected in the marks achieved at university, being the result of commitment and hard work, qualities we rate highly when considering new appointments. So much the better if you are able to balance the rigours of academic study with an actively pursued outside interest, as you are more likely to cope with the demands of professional life as a result. We stress individual responsibility and you will receive direct responsibility for work assignments as soon as you are ready.
In short therefore, we want balanced people who can work imaginatively in a relatively informal environment, with initiative, emotional maturity, imagination, self believe, strong interpersonal skills, tolerance of others, intelligent curiosity and integrity, who displays the potential to join and stay with us for the duration of their careers.
